I’m not gonna lie, I’m really really lazy when it comes to snacks. Now don’t get me wrong, I love to make huge elaborate meals, with appetizers and more ingredients than I care to count. But when it gets busy, I want something I can grab and run out the door with. I also have a major sweet tooth, which can really get in the way of my hot girl summer plans, ya know what I mean?
This easy protein ball recipe has been a staple for me lately. It’s easy to make, easy to grab, made with all whole foods, delicious and it satisfies my sweet tooth all while helping me reach my daily protein goals. Check, check, check & check.
This recipe is totally customizable! You can use whatever protein you like (it doesn’t even have to be chocolate, vanilla tastes great!), I love my Dymatize Iso 100 Gourmet Chocolate, it’s delicious, low carb, and clocks in at about 100-120 calories per serving. It’s been my go-to protein brand for years. They have tons of other flavors as well (gourmet chocolate is my favorite, but the chocolate peanut butter is fantastic too!)
I have tried this recipe with several plant-based proteins and it works perfectly. You can also substitute the honey for agave and the peanut butter for almond butter or any butter of your choice if you’re vegan! If you’re looking to cut calories a little more, just skip the chocolate chips, or use less chocolate chips.
I hope you love this recipe as much as I do, I love to make a whole bunch at once so I have some in the fridge for snacking and can throw some in the freezer for later.
