It’s crazy to believe that after 4 years of unwavering dedication to Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Foundation I have been won over by a new kid on the block. Urban Decay launched their new matte finish, long wearing “All Nighter Foundation” this past month and I am in love. Mixed with Becca’s Backlight Primer, this has quickly become a staple in my morning makeup routine. Keep reading for my Favorite Foundation + Primer Combo Review.
Urban Decay “All Nighter” Foundation Review
Coverage: The coverage is comparable to Kat Von D’s Lock it Foundation which has long been one of my favorites, however I could never quite find a shade that suited me. All Nighter is also much lighter feeling on the skin which I really like.
Longevity: Urban Decay means it when they say “All Nighter.” This stuff truly lasts. I’ve worn it for a day of running errands, for a night out with friends, to a football game in the hot Texas sun, and it did not budge. With my oily skin I can never find something that doesn’t break up around my nose and between my eyebrows, but this stuff stayed put without breaking up.
Packaging: True to Urban Decay form this packaging is smooth and sleek with just the right amount of edginess. There is a pump which I love, it dispenses just the right amount of product and everything stays nice and tidy.
Price: At $40 this is hardly a bargain deal, however with the coverage you receive the amount of product needed is drastically reduced so I think it’s worth it.
Becca Backlight Primer Review
I fell even more in love with Urban Decay’s All Nighter Foundation when I started mixing it with a pump of Becca’s Backlight Primer. This primer adds just the right amount of “glow” without making you look oily or sweaty. Thanks to this primer’s luminescence it acts like your favorite Instagram filter for your face, helping to mask fine lines and pores but without all the glitter. Although it is a primer I prefer to mix it into my foundation rather than apply it as it’s own layer. All I can say about this is that I have never received so many compliments on my skin as when I started using this product.
Longevity: This primer settles into the skin nicely and takes on a bit of a matte feeling, by itself it doesn’t have the best longevity but with a good foundation you’re all set!
Packaging: I love love love this packaging! It comes in a sleek frosted glass bottle with a pump which dispenses just the right amount of product.
