Green Beauty : Juice Beauty PHYTO PIGMENTS Flawless Serum Foundation Review

I am officially the worst blogger on the planet. I’ve had this foundation for MONTHS. It’s almost completely gone. I’ve been meaning to write this review since June, but just never quite got around to it. But oh well, the best laid plans right?

Anyway, enough of my rambling. On to the good stuff.

Back in December of 2017, I made the decision to go green/organic/clean whatever you want to call it,  I won’t go into details here because I’m working on a post alllll about it, but long story short, the toxins had to go. Most of my life was pretty easy to ditch and switch over to cleaner products, makeup, on the other hand, has been a struggle. I have my tried and trues, my ride or dies, my day ones, and letting them go was not going to be easy.

I knew I wanted to find a foundation that was easily accessible, didn’t cost a fortune, came from a reputable brand, and didn’t contain any fragrances or toxins. I knew mineral foundation would be the most obvious choice, but ya girl just really loves her liquid foundations, so I googled, I youtubed, I read and reviewed and I came across Juice Beauty at Ulta.

I wanted to try the Juice Beauty PHYTO PIGMENTS Flawless Serum Foundation because of its “serum” consistency. The Nars All Day Luminous Foundation had been my go-to foundation practically since it launched and I was hoping to find something with the same kind of texture and finish, and the Juice Beauty Foundation seemed to fit the bill.

The Review

My Skin Type: Combination to Oily and Acne Prone

My Shade: 08 Cream

Packaging: This stuff is packaged just the way I like it. Plastic free with a pump. The frosted glass bottle feels heavy and luxurious, and the pump keeps things clean and sanitary.

Consistency: Being a serum foundation this is a very “liquidy” foundation. I did notice a lot of separation so make sure to give it a really good shake before you try to apply. Its very thin and applies smoothly.

How to Apply: I had the best application with my tried and true Sephora Pro 55 brush. It blended things out smoothly and left my skin looking smooth and flawless.

Coverage: Described as being medium to full coverage, this foundation is very easy to layer. I had no issues with it feeling cakey or too heavy and it built up nicely, covering most of my acne scarring and discoloration.

Wear: Once applied and set, this foundation is so comfortable! I didn’t experience any sort of “itchiness” which I typically feel around my nose as my skin gets oily throughout the day. It didn’t do much in the way of preventing oil, so I did have to blot and set with powder about halfway through the day.

Would I Re-Purchase: Already did.
