Tutorial | Cactus Nail Art

In case you missed the memo I have a serious cactus obsession. I’ve got cactus salt and pepper shakers, cactus hand towels, cactus bed sheets and now I’ve got cactus nail art. I got a lot of questions last time I did my cactus nail art so I figured I would just show y’all how I do it.

Step 1 – Base Polish

You can use whatever color/type of nail polish you want for this step. I currently have dipping powder nails so I just started with that. If you are painting your nails just make sure they are completely dry before you start.

Step 2 – Choose Your Colors

This is completely up to you. You can use whatever colors/color scheme you want. I am using OPI Christmas Gone Plaid, OPI Kiss Me I’m Brazilian, OPI Strawberry Margarita and Essie In the Cabana.

Step 3 – Gather Your Tools

I am using an old set that I found at Sally Beauty but this set has everything you need and it’s super cheap. You will need a flat rounded tip brush, a dotting tool, and a super skinny detailing brush.

Let’s Get Started

Cactus #1

Cactus Nail Art

1 – Create stacked circles. I like to offset them so it doesn’t look like they’re too organized

2 – Add some line detailing. I used blue for this but you could use white or any color of your choosing!

3 – Place dots with your first accent color

4 – Place dots with your second accent color. They can be clustered or by themselves.

5 – Let dry for a bit and then apply your top coat!

Cactus #2

1- Create your cactus base.

2 – Add arms.

3 – Add line detailing. Once again I used blue but you can use whichever color you like!

4 – Place dots with first accent color.

5 – Place dots with second accent color.

6 – Let dry and apply top coat.

That’s it y’all! I have been doing this every time I’ve had my nails done lately and I just adore them. They’re just such a cute addition to any summer manicure! Let me know if you try this out and be sure to tag me in your instas!!

xoxo
